A unique exhibition of drawings from the fashion shows of the 1950s will be held within the limits of the Aurora Fashion Week Russia fifth season in St. Petersburg.

Until the late 1960s of the last century each fashion magazine had a special staff – professional artists who made instant sketches on the shows. We know that the photo equipment of that time was far from perfect, unable to take good pictures.

Sketches were processed in studios and reproduced in magazines. The most expensive and influential editions could afford lithographed pages in every issue.

The lithographs of the historical and artistic value issued in Vogue and L’Officiel in 1950-1958 will be represented on the exhibition.

The visitors will see 30 lithographs with dresses by Givenchy, Balmain, Dior, Faith, Lavin and other couturiers who worked in Paris during that period.
