St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK

St. Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK is initiated as International Fashion week in Petersburg and it is one of the key events in fashion industry both at regional and federal levels of Russia. It is a new forum for fashion business and fashion culture, targeted at Russia, European countries and post-soviet areas. It is based in St.Petersburg and runs 2 times a year within one calendar week — in May and November.

The main tasks of St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK

St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK is developing fields which reflect interaction and interplay of fashion and various aspects of culture – music, cinema, modern art and literature. When implementing such projects, it actively cooperates with museums and galleries of St.Petersburg and other cultural institutions of the city. The Central Exhibition Hall Manezh has become a center of such interaction.
St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK is developing educational programs, and also programs directed at information exchange. AFW issues a challenge to raise the professional level of future experts in fashion and adjoined spheres. AFW invites world leading fashion experts to take part in such programs and it cooperates with educational institutions of St.Petersburg in this field.
St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK gives St.Petersburg a status of a center of intensive professional growth of fashion industry, it is aimed at creation of Russian consumer industry in the Northwest region of Russia. AFW attracts both large consumer industry enterprises and small business (the sewing enterprises, design studios) to the dialogue.
St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK takes active part in forming image of St.Petersburg as modern European city, sensitive to new cultural and social trends. AFW develops this direction through mass media and the Internet.
St.Petersburg AURORA FASHION WEEK develops social function with the help of events for a wide range of St.Petersburg citizens. It gives the possibility to visit AFW programs for free, evoking a feeling of openness and tolerance in citizens.
